How do I reference a chapter in a Clinical Key book and do I put the Clinical Key URL in it and how do I find the page numbers of a chapter or section?

You do not put the URL from Clinical Key in the reference as per the instructions in the Ara APA guide

 

So a chapter in an ebook is referenced the same as a chapter in a physical book. 

e.g.

Finding page numbers in Clinical Key.

Find your book in Clinical Key. e.g.

1. Click on Books

2. Under Alphabet choose the letter of the first word in the title of your book.

3. Scroll to your book title and click on the title to open it e.g. 

4. Click on the chapter you need.

5. On the first page you will see the Chapter title; the authors and the page numbers of the chapter 

6. For more specific page numbering. navigate to the page you need to cite and then choose View in Bookshelf which should be in the top right of your screen. Then you should see a more detailed breakdown of chapter content with page numbers for specific section headings e.g. for the section below on Cultural safety the page number is 57.

Troubleshooting technical issues

Sometimes switching between the standard view and Bookshelf can cause funtionality issues. If you are having such problems then try accessing from a New InPrivate Window or New Incognito Window in your browser. 

  • In your Edge web browser click the three dots in the top right corner and choose New InPrivate Window
  • In Chrome click the three dots in the top right corner and click New Incognito Window.

Then try to access Clinical Key in the usual way.
